If you are a fan of unglamorous and difficult issues – then we have the campaign for you! If you’re not then we plan to change your mind!

Sanitation is not an issue that we really like to talk about – let alone expect you to. But it’s an issue we HAVE to talk about because so many people die when we let our embarrassment get in the way.

The Give a Sh*t (GAS) campaign and particularly our ‘Sh*t song’ is a way of us getting you to talk about “toilet issues” and to get your friends to talk about them to.

Once we start talking about sanitation – we can start caring about it and we can start campaigning for change that will stop making poo such a taboo and show those across the world that we really do Give a Sh*t!

The Give A Sh*it campaign are working to tackle the taboo of really talking about sanitation and the issues surrounding this. We want to get people talking about toilets!

Sanitation isn't an easy campaign to run, or an easy issue for people to start talking about. People don't necessarily want to be associated with, or get passionate about.... poo.

However without people talking about the issues then nothing will get heard and we want to make sure the issue of 2.5 billion people living without a toilet across the world is heard!

We want to get people talking about this issue to make sure that pressure is put on the relevant governing bodies to ensure that the issue of sanitation is high on their political agenda.

The GAS campaign is working in conjunction with various partners, including the National Union of Students (NUS) and the World Toilet Organisation (WTO). We plan to raise awareness to this issue through every means possible.

Dear Chris and Team

The ‘Give a Sh*t’ (GAS) campaign is trying to tackle the taboo of the toilet. Yes, we want to get people talking about the issue of sanitation and talking about poo!

Sanitation is not an issue that we really like to talk about – let alone expect you to. But it’s an issue we HAVE to talk about because so many people die when we let our embarrassment get in the way. There are 2.5 billion people, to be precise, across the world who are living without a toilet!

The 19th November 2009 is World Toilet Day and we are asking you, the Radio 1 Chris Moyles' show to play our ‘Sh*t Song’ live on air, to ALL your listeners, to really show that it’s Not a Taboo, it’s just Poo!

So,  do you Give A Sh*t, Moyles?

Play the ‘Sh*t Song’ on World Toilet Day, 19th November
